Mt. Yoshida
The peak above the signboard is Mt. Yoshida. Some people believe it was named after a person, but in fact the name's origin is unknown. Some say this Yoshida was the former Director-General of the Hokkaido Government's Hidaka Subprefectural Office, who loved mountain climbing.
The summit of Mt. Yoshida has limited expanse, but has great views of the Horomankyo Gorge far below its eastern slope. Climbers reaching this far should push on to the summit.
