- Location of occurrence: Off the eastern coast of Aomori Prefecture (approx. 80 km northeast of Hachinohe)

- Depth of epicenter: 50 km

- The Japan Meteorological Agency issued a "Hokkaido/Sanriku Subsequent Earthquake Advisory" at 2:00 AM on Tuesday, the 9th, marking the first time such an advisory has ever been issued .
