Physical characteristics:
This perennial grows to approximately 30 cm in height. The radical leaves have long leafstalks, while the stem leaves clasp the stem. The flowers form compound umbels, with the small flower clusters blooming on flower stalks that grow from the tips of the stems and the leaf axils.

late July to late August
Habitat:
rocky areas in and above the Umanose area
Other information:
synonym: hosobanokoganesaiko; a quasi-endemic variant species
Japanese name origin:
The “saiko” refers to a group of medicinal herbs known for treating ailments such as colds and high blood pressure.
