- Physical characteristics:
- This perennial grows to approximately 10 cm in height. The leaves, clustered at the base, are spoon-shaped with slightly rolled edges.

- May to early June
- Habitat:
- rocky areas in and above the fifth stage
- Other information:
- It is found on rare occasions on the sea cliffs at the foot of the mountain. This endemic variant species is considered a variety of yukiwarikozakura (Primula modesta var. fauriei).
- Japanese name origin:
- The “yukiwari,” literally “snow-breaker,” comes from its early blooming in spring, when snow still lingers.
