This perennial grows to approximately 10 cm in height and spreads through underground stems. The round leaves are shallowly divided into seven lobes, with fine white hairs on the underside.

Japanese name origin:
The “iwa” and “zakura (sakura)” translate as “rock” and “cherry blossoms.” The name comes from its pink flowers, which resemble cherry blossoms and which are found on rock formations, in rocky areas, and elsewhere.
