Physical characteristics:
This perennial grows to approximately 15 cm in height. Both the stem and leaves are hollow and tubular, with the leaves being shorter than the stem. The flowers are arranged in a hemispherical cluster at the tip of the stem, and the stamens are shorter than the tepals.

Japanese name origin:
The term “hime” means “princess” and signifies something small. “Himeezonegi” literally means “small Hokkaido leek.”
